Maybe you have always had a disability or maybe you have recently become disabled. You may have been with NDIS for few years or maybe you have your first plan and don't know where to start.
NDIS is a great many things to many people and I like to think of it as "Golden Ticket". Once you meet access you are now on a journey which you probably know very little about - or perhaps have some general idea about.
Congratulations for meeting Access because now you are likely to be supported to live your best life and achieve some goals with a team of providers behind you. Access is only the start and NDIS will probably be your wingman for the rest of your life.

You probably have many questions and finding the answers on the NDIS website isn't easy and takes a lot of time. This is where a good Support Coordinator can help you. All kinds of support is available to NDIS clients but funded supports must be reasonable, necessary and relate to your disability. Support Coordinators help you navigate this.
You will have a support team designed by you. This support team can be funded through NDIS but also can be a family members or others like your Podiatrist. Support providers will be person-centered meaning services wrap around you. We meet with each other to ensure a coordinated approach to delivering the right support at the right time and in the right way.

It's time to look to your future and to think about your goals. Your goals can range from 'feeling safe and living independently in your own home' to 'take part in social activities' such as 'recording a song' or 'learning to paint'.
If you have a physical disability or psychosocial disability - or both, there is usually a pathway to building your capacity to achieve your goals. Your Support Coordinator will work with you to achieve your goals - that is part of their job.
NDIS is here to help you - make sure you are receiving the supports you require.
